Hack the Hood works with early career communities of color to provide data and tech skill building programs grounded in justice that lead to career opportunities in tech. Their beginner program (hustle) focuses on foundational technical instruction while addressing various social justice issues in technology.

WHAT:

  • Python coding skills, introduction to software development, data science and analytics.
  • The opportunity to join a like-minded, supportive cohort of other early-career BIPOC youth.
  • Exposure to various career opportunities and pathways in the tech industry.
  • Professional development workshops hosted in partnership with leading tech companies to help learners level up their resume, job search, and coding skills.
  • The potential to earn up to $500 and receive a free laptop, if needed

WHO:

  • Black, Latinx, AAPI, Indigenous, LGBTQ+ individuals between the ages of 16-25 are encouraged to apply! Priority given to Alameda County residents and greater Bay Area.
