Important resources for ICE activity in the Bay Area
As ICE operations begin in the Bay Area today, we are concerned for some of our Braid families and other neighbors who may be affected. [Note: Braid never asks the immigration status of youth and families in our program.]
We urge you to be understanding if some of our youth and families want and need to stay home this weekend, and to talk with them about their concerns and how to protect themselves and those around them.
If you do witness ICE activity, document what you see (with video if possible, recording officers’ badges and patrol car numbers) and call the San Francisco Rapid Response Network (415-200-1548) or that of the county you are in.

We can also help our youth and their families understand their rights. These documents have helpful checklists for how to be prepared.

You may want to consider carrying a safety whistle to alert others to ICE activity.

Of course, if you do learn of any ICE activity impacting our Braid families, please notify your team facilitator and/or Chris and Rebecca ASAP, and please do all you can to keep yourselves and members of our Braid community out of harm’s way.
